Affiliate Staff Coach

Conducted track and field clinics in the USA and internationally. Worked with the Kentucky Association of USATF and with the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association on various clinics and projects. Traveled to Berlin representing AIA as part of a team of sports ministers at the 2009 IAAF World Track & Field Championships. Coached a group of college and post-collegiate athletes on a competitive tour of Belgium during the summer of 2010. Coach a clinical team of college athletes on a tour of Thailand in 2004.

2008 – 2015. Somerset High School; Somerset, KY

Track & Cross Country Coach

Coached Cross Country and Track & Field athletes in various disciplines including sprints, jumps, throws, and distance events. At least one athlete from his training groups won medals at the KHSAA Class-A State Track & Field Championships. Two athletes went on to NCAA Division-I collegiate level competition. Five of his athletes won state championships and seven others were state runners-up.

1996 –2004. Lake Cumberland Runners; Somerset, KY

Track & Cross Country Coach

Coached numerous local runners to state, regional and national level competitions. He coached a group of U-16 cross-country runners to a 3rd place finish at the USATF Junior Olympics National Cross Country Championships. Also coached several individual athletes that competed on the national level in USATF Junior Olympics age-group competition.

Head Girls Track Coach

In the three years, team accomplishments improved from a 4th place finish in the Class AAA Region 6 meet to runner-up finish in 2004. Coached numerous state qualifiers and medalists as well as Regional Champions in events as diverse as Shot Put, Discus, 4x800 Meter Relay, 1600 Meter Run, 3200 Meter Run, Long Jump, Triple Jump, 100 Meter Dash, and 200 Meter Dash.

Assistant Track Coach

Coached throwers and other field event athletes including one top-10 finisher in the state Shot Put competition.

1986 Dr. James R. Morrow, Jr., Ph.D.; Houston, TX

Research Assistant

Employed as a research assistant under the direction of Dr. James R. Morrow, Jr. of the University of Houston on a project involving computer programming, data entry, and microcomputer utilization consultation for a study of pulmonary function in U. S. Olympic athletes. The study was funded by the U.S. Olympic Committee.

Graduate Assistant Coach

Served as a graduate assistant coach for the University of Houston Track Team under the direction of Senior Assistant Coach Dorothy Doolittle. Primarily worked with Combined Event athletes and horizontal jumpers. Two athletes earned All-America honors.

Employed as a teacher in the Photography Department at Clear Lake High School and worked as an assistant coach for the Football, Cross-Country, and Track Teams.
