Senior Marketing Analyst/Supervisor of Market Research and Analysis

Began as Senior Marketing Analyst and promoted to Supervisor of Market Research and Analysis at this major manufacturer of oil and gas drilling equipment. Responsible for management of market research and analysis tasks. Duties included oversight of forecasting and budgeting in various sales regions and market analysis for various product lines in the domestic and international oil and gas drilling industry. In this role, traveled to domestic and international sales regions to implement and train management of the system. Developed a reporting and forecasting system to predict and order inventory for sales teams. The system monitored leading indicators of drilling activity to predict requirements for plant loading and marketing efforts.

Also Served as functional database manager for the company’s marketing and sales departments. Worked as a liaison with the company's Data Processing department. Developed programs in SAS an SPSS to analyze sales and marketing data. Also migrated mainframe-based data to personal computers for analysis by marketing staff. Used 4GL programming tools to analyze sales and marketing data to inform the sales team and strategically plan for domestic and international efforts.

Developed a database system to allow entry of data for the annual Reed Tool Company Rig Census, a published analysis of rotary drilling rigs available to explore for petroleum products in the United States. Coordinated data collection throughout domestic sales regions and conducted statistical analysis of data to report findings. Wrote articles for publication and made numerous presentations to industry groups throughout the country.

Developed spreadsheet models for prediction of drilling activity based on industry information. Developed a sales forecast and budgeting program for the company’s international sales regions. Responsible for the selection of computer hardware and software in the marketing and sales departments. Involved in training marketing and sales personnel in the use of computer systems.
